We decided in June to give members opportunities to plan, organize, and host special events to supplement what we normally do in our regular meetings. This was the first such event, organized by one of the newest members, Yuki, in collaboration with the Immediate Past President, Hideo. Not only is Yuki one of the newest, but she is also one of the most enthusiastic about trying new things, which is why the officers hinted she plans something.
Though the attendance was smaller than usual, we all had a superb time practicing impromptu speeches as well as giving and receiving feedback. This served as a valuable opportunity for newer members to practice giving feedback, which plays a pivotal role in our learning at Toastmasters. Hopefully, we can have a similar event in not so distant future.
