In-depth feedback
In support of three of our members who will be competing in the Area 63 speech contests, we held a practice session on February 22.
Unlike in our regular meeting, where one evaluator provides an evaluation speech and other members provided written feedback, we had a feedback session where audience members and speakers had a discussion. The biggest difference is that while in regular meetings, feedback is one-way due to time constraints, it was two-way this time. We had every attendee comment on the speeches and speakers respond to them. This led to a much deeper understanding of the speeches and the speakers must have learned more than they can hope for during the regular meetings.
The contestants will be delivering their improved speeches at the 2022 Area 63 Speech Contests on March 5 and the 6th. Pan will be representing us in the 2022 Area 63 Humorous Speech Contest to be held on March 5 from 5:30 p.m. Yuki and Mit will represent us in the 2022 Area 63 Japanese Speech Contest and the 2022 Area 63 International Speech Contest, respectively. The Japanese Speech Contest will start at 1:00 p.m. on March 6 and the International Speech Contest at 2:30 p.m. on March 6.
