We discussed how to provide feedback effectively.
We learned how to provide our evaluation and feedback on prepared speeches. The facilitator presented what he thinks is important in evaluation speeches followed by a prepared speech.
Then, the participants were divided into four groups to discuss:
1) What the specific purpose of the speech was,
2) In what area the speaker did well and in what way, and
3) What the speaker can do differently to make the speech better.
This was followed by two evaluation speeches. In the end, we reviewed and discussed what each evaluator did well and what they could have done differently.
Thanks to the active participation of everybody in attendance, not only our members but also three friends from the Nishinomiya TGIF Toastmasters Club, our sponsor club, and six guests, we enjoyed this great learning opportunity together. This symbolized what we do in Toastmasters, where members help each other learn and grow.
Thank you, everyone, and let's put the things we learned at this meeting into practice in our future meetings and in our professional and private life.
