A significant milestone
This was our 100th regular meeting. Though it is a significant milestone, it is not as spectacular as the fifth anniversary, tenth anniversary, and 500th meeting. Therefore, we didn't do anything big like welcoming Toastmasters guests from neighboring clubs, asking celebratory messages from division or district leaders.
Instead, we celebrated our milestone with a themed Table Topics Session. The Topicsmaster, Hideo, followed the recent trend of providing topics that are not questions. Rather, he focused on the number "100" and the Shin-Osaka Leaders Toastmasters Club. The topics were:
Envision Your 100th Birthday
100 points. Perfect sore on a test
100-meter Dash
Envision Yourself in 100 weeks
Envision Yourself in 100 months
One Thing that You Want to Keep Doing for the Next 100 Days
Your Rating of the Last Meeting You Attended on a Scale of 0 to 100
The best meeting in your Opinion in the History of Shin-Osaka Leaders
Speakers took the topics in their own ways and made creative speeches. Some struggled to make a speech while some knew what they need to tell before they started to speak. It is always great to practice impromptu speaking on an unexpected topic because we sometimes need to do just that in real life and Toastmasters is the best place to get ready for any public speaking challenges that life poses.
