A New Start
This was the very first meeting of the program year 2022-2023, and our new president Yuki presided over the meeting, leading us to our great start!
We had three speeches that were diverse, symbolizing how diverse Shin-Osaka Leaders Toastmasters Club is. The first speech was from the final level of Pathways learning experience, Level 5, based on the project called "Lead in Any Situation." The speech was 8- to 10-minutes long as opposed to the regular 5- to 7-minutes speeches. The second was based on the Level 1 project of "Writing a Speech with Purpose" and the third was based on the Level 3 project, "Know Your Sense of Humor."
In Shin-Osaka Leaders, the members are diverse. In their experience, some have completed their first Path in Toastmasters' educational program, "Pathways" while others have just embarked on their journey, with the majority somewhere in between. In the place of birth, we are a group of people from China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Taiwan, Kenya, the U.S., and Japan. In the place of residence, we have members living in Osaka, Hyogo, Kyoto, Tokyo, Gunma, and Fukuoka. In the walks of life, some are teachers, some are researchers, others are sales representatives, and others are corporate leaders. We also have a consultant, an interpreter, a secretary, and more.
One thing that we have in common is the commitment to growth, the commitment to improve our skills, whether it be one-on-one communication skills, public speaking skills, or leadership skills. If you share the same passion for growth, pay us a visit!
