Important business conducted
This was an important meeting that demonstrated what we do in Toastmasters. We had the audit report from the last term and discussed our budget for the current program year.
This might sound a bit too formalistic, but we take it seriously because the club is run on membership dues and we want the club officers to be accountable for how the club funds are utilized.
Job well done!
The educational portion of the meeting was fun as always with one of the members, Keiji, trying the role of General Evaluator for the first time. General Evaluator is busy. They are tasked with providing evaluations to speech evaluators and functionary role takers. They also provide feedback on the performances of Toastmaster of the Day (the master of ceremonies for the entire educational portion of the meeting) and Topicsmaster (the facilitator of the Tabel Topics session, where we practice impromptu speeches), as well as on the entire meeting as a whole. It requires a lot of skills, attentive listening, good knowledge about speeches, and tactful choice of words and organization.
Keiji demonstrate some of those skills covering a lot and provided, with his signature humor, in-depth evaluations over the meeting using a lot of useful expressions like, "on top of that," "other than that," "Last but not least," and "Congratulations! Keep it up!" Congratulations, Keiji!
