First hybrid meeting in two months and a half
This was our first hybrid meeting in two months and a half. Our last hybrid meeting was held on August 2, when we saw a surge in the number of infection cases.
This meeting started three minutes behind schedule, an extremely rare occurrence at Shin-Osaka Leaders, where meetings usually start right on time.
The meeting started late because there were some glitches because we used a different computer this time. Ever since we started meeting hybrid, we have used equipment that belongs to a couple of members. Yet, since we are holding our meetings hybrid going forward because we have members in remote places like Tokyo, Kyoto, Fukuoka, and Nagasaki, it is not a good thing that only a fraction of members are responsible for the equipment, and that is why we are trying to use computers, microphones, and other equipment that belongs to other members. It was the first time we used a computer of a new member and it took longer than expected to set up the equipment. Though we regret that the meeting had to start a couple of minutes late, it was a good thing that we were able to test the new setting with the new computer.
Debut!
Two new members made their debuts in a new role. Lu made her debut as Topicspaster, who facilitates the Table Topics session, where we practice impromptu speeches. She prepared intriguing topics centered around some old sayings. She prepared beautiful slides that helped participants understand the topic well and facilitated the session skillfully. Miyu, on the other hand, served as Grammarian for the first time, paying attention to participants' use of language. She put what she found during the meeting in a brief Excel sheet and gave us a succinct report. Well done, both of you!!
Some nice phrases found during the meeting
