Long Table Topics session
This meeting was unique in that we had a longer-than-usual Table Topics (impromptu speech) session. Our meetings are 100 minutes short, and inevitably our Table Topics sessions are short, about 10 to 15 minutes long.
This was especially the case in the previous program year when the club officers wanted to spend a bit longer in the business session to provide feedback on members' comments about how we can improve our meetings. The officers this year, however, have decided to make the business session a bit shorter. In addition, we did not have anything extra, which resulted in a very long Table Topics session spanning 28 minutes. The Topicsmaster, Ayako, facilitated the session tactfully and invited no fewer than eight (8) participants to take the stage. Having more opportunities to practice impromptu speaking is definitely a great way to think quickly and construct a speech. We look forward to more of those longer-than-usual Table Topics sessions.
