"Moments of Truth" Discussion
Held solely online for the first time in a long time, this meeting was devoted to discussions based on the "Moments of Truth" module, a program Toastmasters International provides for clubs to determine how well they serve their members and their members contribute to the clubs.
Mutual support
One phrase often heard during the discussion was "give and take." It was great to hear many relatively new members mention this because that symbolizes that they understand how Toastmasters clubs work. Members contribute and they obtain benefits. We fulfill our responsibilities to the club and to the other members of the club. That is how we support and benefit each other. Still, this very fact that these members mentioned "give and take" that many times signifies that there are some members they see are not fully in alginment with this principle. The truth is no Toastmasters club can afford to have a "customer." We all need to be the driving forces. When that happens, a Toastmasters club will be able to deliver the full benefit of the Toastmasters program.
